Bill Callanan

Advisory Board Biography

Bill Callanan is the CEO and one of the principle owners of Crowley Chemical Company, Inc., a specialty chemicals company. Mr. Callanan is also the CEO and one of the principal owners of Permalith Plastics, LLC, a specialty plastics company. He led the leveraged buyout of both of these companies in 2007 and 2001, respectively. He has over 25 years of experience in the oil, chemical and related industries. He has also led numerous global organizations with operations in the United States, Mexico, Canada, South America and Asia.

Prior to his current activities, Mr. Callanan was Executive Vice President for Borden Chemical Company. In this position, he led the Foundry and Industrial Products division and all of Borden Chemical’s European operations. Before his position with Borden, Mr. Callanan was an Executive and Corporate Officer with ARCO Chemical Company, where he led the global performance chemicals business as well as the corporate business development functions from 1994 to 1998 and the Western Hemisphere Business Management functions from 1991 to 1994. Mr. Callanan held other senior management positions at ARCO in sales and marketing, strategic planning, business management, commercial development and manufacturing from 1975 to 1991. He started his professional career with Mobil Oil Corporation in the research and development department.

Mr. Callanan was a Member of the Board of Directors of the American Music Theater Festival from 1990 to 1998 and a Member of the Executive Committee for the Polyurethane Division of the Society of Plastics Institute from 1992 to 1994. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University, a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of the Wharton Management Program from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
